The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.
"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
